What is collected

When you book, we ask for your name, email address and, optionally, a phone number. You may also choose, separately and never by default, to hear about future events.

Why

Your name and email identify your booking and carry your ticket numbers. A phone number, if you give one, is only used to reach you about this event — a venue change, for instance. Nothing here is sold, rented or shared for anyone else’s marketing.

Where it goes

Bookings are stored in a private database on the website hosting account. Card payment is not switched on, so no payment processor holds your details today. When it is switched on, Stripe will handle payments and will receive your name and email; we will never see or store your card number. Confirmation email is sent through the organizer’s configured email provider. Depending on the hosting and email providers, your details may be processed outside Canada.

How long it is kept

Booking records are kept until the event has taken place and the accounts for it are settled, and then for as long as tax and charitable-reporting rules require — generally six years. Marketing consent is kept until you withdraw it.

Your rights

You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted where we are not required to keep it. Write to the organizer (contact details will be published before bookings open) and you will get an answer within 30 days.
